I was looking at getting a 1500 Express as that's what fits my budget the best. I have been looking around and have found a nice Big Horn for just a few thousand more than what I was looking at for an Express but it is discounted a few thousand already. I know it depends on the dealer among other things but what do you guys think would be a reasonable number to get them to come down to?

Here is the truck in question :New 2015 Ram 1500 For Sale | Huntington Beach CA | 1C6RR6LG7FS542175

Well if msrp is 41 and they have it listed for 29 jump on that right now you don't normally see 11-12 off the big horns they are normally 8-9 and the express are 5-7 when you start seeing 10+ off is sports and larmie's. Good luck it's a great looking truck!

I know there are a TON of different variables that go into it. But, I got 12,000 off of my 2014 Big Horn the first weekend of December. We waited until the end of the year and found what we were looking for, but had to expand our search to a 350 mile radius.

That amount off is great but I wouldn't get too excited as the fine print looks like it's referencing rebates from January. I don't think there is a $4k rebate going on right now, at least not in Texas.

This is about 1.5 drive for me currently, I don't have a problem with driving a few hours for a good deal. Maybe I'll wait a little longer and see what else comes around. Is the $12k you got off including rebates or pre-release price?

If I remember correctly there is a $1500 California resident rebate along with a $2500 rebate or something similar to that.

Dang, not bad. The $2500 is a go for now and that includes the $500 for financing with Chrysler. In Texas, fyi.

When you guys say $10-$12k is that before the rebates? So another $2-$4k may be possible you think?

no, rebates are included when people are talking about $10K + off. Most of the time, when people talk about X amount of the sticker, it includes the rebates. Find the "invoice price" for your truck, you can get it for 1-3% below that and then add the applicable rebates. General rule of thumb ( including rebates ).... If its a $30k truck, maybe $5k off. $40k truck, 6-7k off, $45k truck, 7-8K off, $50k+, 9-11K off.

My suggestion is to go to truecar.com and pick your model and options.

True car takes rebates into account and will give you 3 local dealers. it is a great service.

Of course if you take 0% financing you do NOT get the rebates!!

i dont think another 2-4 is in the books for that truck seeing it discounted 11-12 already means they are probably at the bottom dollar for that truck. noupf seems to be close to what i see as far as price off msrp and thats my hobby is shopping around on autotrader and local dealers websites, the ST 5-6 off slt 7-8 off, sport/Laramie 9-10 and Laramie longhorn/limited 10+ sees average so seeing that kind of discount tells me that due to the fact its a v6 they have been sitting on it for a while.

if you dont have big towing needs the v6 8 speed is a great combination for these trucks my only concern would be if it had 3.21 or 3.55 axle ratio because that makes a huge jump in towing capacity by like 3-4000 lbs.

lastly if the dual exhaust is a deal breaker that can be added, im 90% sure the factory hemi exhaust bolts right up, other members have had that done. i dont remember the name but a user on this site had it added to his Laramie.

7k... The more features, the more off msrp. Here in MN, laramies are under 2k more than a big horn.... Hemi is a 1200 dollar upgrade over the V6, but the fairly loaded BH w/hemi is just over 8k off.

This time of year, go balls to the walls with features, you just get that much more off the msrp. I can get a crew tradesman for 34k, a BH for 36k, or a Laramie for 38.5.... Respectively, 5k off msrp, 8k off msrp, and 11k off msrp.... Hope this helps.

the two places in Idaho I listed, one of them has over 1300 ram trucks on site at all times. I believe they are the number one ram dealer in the U.S. i could be wrong, I looked into it, would of cost me 100$ to fly out and 1,400 miles to drive home" would of been a nice break in for the motor" but I didn't go that route. Also the rebates are based on where u plan to register the truck not where u buy it " if memory serves me right.

That's a great price if it's equipped exactly the way you want. Just make sure the 3:21 will meet your future towing needs. Noticed it had a limited slip which is handy to have. Area has a lot to do with prices and packages--CA should have a ton of dealers so competition is high. Make sure and get exactly the truck you want.......but if that's it I'd go for it. They can throw in some accessories for you to sweeten the deal.

Check out the Costco Auto Buying program. I saved a load of $$ and the nice thing it's EASY. You just sign up - get referred to a dealer and go buy your truck. No hours of haggling. No having to sit around and listen to smoke and mirrors BS about limited time rebates and sales.

I got about 10K off of a 48K MSRP truck. I was also shopping Dave Smith in Idaho and when I told them I was comparing them with Costco they stopped returning my emails.
