How To: Install a 2018 4C (UAQ/UAS) Radio in 2013 - 2017 RAM

I've installed the UAS radio with the compass media hub. Everything functions but I have no sound coming out of my system. I do have aftermarket LC7i and amps installed. When I bypass them I have sound. Wondering if I need to do the speaker level resistor wire mod to fix it?

Yeah, stopped by the store and picked up some 100 ohm 2 watt (was all they had that was close to the 150 ohm recommended by Audiocontrol). $2 fixed the issue. Working well now.

You've got two basic choices. You can gather the parts yourself from ebay, salvage yards, M2Mods (for the harness), the for sale forum here, etc. That will be the more time consuming but less expensive way. Or you can go to one of the companies that sell entire upgrade packages like infotainment.com. You'll pay more, but it will be less work. Both ways work, it just depends on which you have more of, time & patience or money.

Mine works great although for some odd reason even though I have voice guidance shut off it still tells me proceed to route and when I reach my destination all other times not a peep

I have a UAQ that doesn’t seem to have Nav so I will check what I have as I have a couple laying around. Some are UAQ and some UAS. I’m gonna keep a few as I have a 15 Chally Scat, 2014 Jeep, 2016 Ram 1500 and 300s but not sure what will work with what after finding this thread

If anyone has a navigation unit out of a 2018 I will trade you mine. It is a RA4 unit with navigation it came out of my 2015 1500when I traded it in it works fine all is good with it just the software is different in the 2018 2500

Has anybody found a solution to the dark backup camera screen?

Also, the info for artist and song title does not scroll across the screen on FM or SXM or Blutooth. It cuts off part of the info (usually song title). The RA4 didn't have that issue (at least on FM)
Otherwise, I really like the UAS radio.

Think a software update would be worth a try? I'm running 17.36.39 if I'm looking in the right place

The software info you need to reference is the "application version" which is v18.14 & is the latest anyone has been able to download...
version 19.9 is installed on factory 2018 UAx radios but not available to d/l yet.

That's the latest then. Can't say if the cut off text is any different

Why does it look like the bottom of your screen is being cut off by the bezel? Is it just the angle or is the 2018+ 8.4 a slightly different size the and 2017- 8.4's?
