Sorry to hear about your issue, definitely frustrating.
It was 1 degree here and my 2016 radio worked instantly. Have you possibly tried to let the cab warm up long enough to see if the issue is temp related? I suppose you could try and pull the radio out a little and heat the back of the radio with a hair dryer or heat gun while it is plugged in to see if it powers on.

Had it running for ten minutes before I unhooked the battery with no effect.

What year is your truck? And what FW are you running?

I've seen a few posts around trying to figure this out and reasons why it's happening to radios. Most have whittled it down to being either temp related or voltage. This morning it was 15 degrees when I cranked my truck. Radio powered up immediately (2015 truck with MY15-16 mix/hybrid 8.4 w/7speed conversion with current software). The voltage varied from 10v to 14v as the grid heater tried to keep the cold motor happy.

I think it's just the radios themselves with faulty electronics or harnesses.

I would like to try and eliminate the possibility that it is FW related.
Is it possible to overwrite my current version 16.09.09 with a previous version and if so does anyone have the files saved or know where to find them?

Will I lose the free trials of sxm and travel link if I update or in my case downgrade the fw?

Might have to reinstall the software on mine again as well. Dealer did some flashes when it was in for service and now Siri has stopped working.

Ha ha ha , that's a fantastic idea !
Freakin idiots ....LOL !

You should build a box with a lock on it that says secured by Smith & Wesson!

Or better yet a lock box shaped in the form of a ( FU) With the middle finger !

I've gotta get the AE tool ...

Just so there is ZERO confusion because I know text can be confusing At times I completely agree with cptwing ! ! ! ..

Here is the a excerpt from an email I received from from Austin @ Navrepair.com in regards to using a 2016 radio in 13-14 trucks,
(does not address using a 16 radio in a 15 truck):

2016 radios aren’t setup for 2013-14 vehicles.
There is no fix action at this time.
We recommend using a 2014 or 2015 radio instead.

We have seen mixed results form not happening to no problem? But there official position is don't. Wonder if they told gigabyte3 this?

I had the infotainment system in my truck, I chose to upgrade the bezel, got help with the wiring harness, first one didn't work, second one did, now I love it. Nav, Sirius, upgraded bezel.

As a result, ebay may have a bezel with volume control and harness

I love this mod, since then I have upgraded to leather seats, overhead console, mirror and steering wheel. Homelink still not working yet!

Thanks to this forum for all the help

Yeah, sounds like I'm gonna have to specifically ask to leave it alone next time. On the plus side, my TPMS hasn't went off once since getting it back. Previously it would sound around 72psi and even if it got up to 75 after a long drive it would still be chime on startup until I actually aired them up to 80. Tires this morning were 68 due to the cold and nothing. Hope it stays that way.
