Interchanging hoods. 2nd and 3rd gen

I need a white hood for a 2001 dodge. Having a hard time finding one, but I found a good deal on a 3rd gen white hood.

Any chance a 3rd gen hood can be used on a 2nd gen truck?

That would be a no. The parts look similar, but they're not. Look closely at the rear, where the hinges are. The 2nd Gen hood is straight cut and the 3rd Gen curves because a 3rd Gen quarter panel comes all the way up to the windshield.

Got it. I haven't looked close at the 3rd gen hood. Don't want to make the drive to see it if it won't fit.
