Is the sway bar somehow sliding horizontally?

On the way home this morning I got some shaking briefly in the steering wheel which is uncommon, when I got under to look at the front end I noticed the sway bar looks like it’s been sliding inside the bushing? Is that possible?

Yes it is. I recommend getting new bushings.

Thank you for the quick response! That would make a lot of sense with how it’s been handling lately

New bushings will hold the sway bar better, yes, but will not address the shaking you experienced.

It’s more likely that the shaking (from a worn part somewhere else in the front end) is what caused the sway bar to shift side to side.

Could the links being too tight cause this as well? I haven’t full dived into it yet but I did a quick browse and everything looks relatively fine.

Check your lower ball joints, that’ll turn into death wobble soon.
