Issues with air flow and temperature

Hey all.

Just bought a 2010 Ram V8 Hemi, and am working through a few issues. Specifically, for the air conditioning, I've noticed a few problems:

• No floor-level air is blowing at all
• Defrost-level air IS blowing as expected
• About 75% of the time, when I start the car, there is a loud, fast clicking in the dash for about 5 seconds
• Every time I start the vehicle I either only have cold air or hot air, but can't change back and forth between them

I pulled the dash apart and looked at the 3 blender door actuators. I'm not sure what each of them specifically controls, but I did observe that the gears on all 3 were moving and had no damage.

Any thoughts on what to try next?
