2023 3500 Cummins. My left turn signal turns my high beams on. I am not pushing the handle in any direction but straight down. Has anyone heard of this being an issue or know of a DIY fix? If there is already a thread for this, I apologize. Still learning to navigate the page.

With the truck being a '23, the DIY fix is take it to the dealership.

Possible it's the multifunction switch in the steering column but it could also be a problem with the BCM.

Thank you, I figured that but with it being a work truck I was hoping it was something I wouldn’t have to take it in for. I appreciate your time.

I have no dog in this hunt, but just curious - does that mean the Left Turn Signal does not work? Or does it trigger both LTS and HiBeam?

Day time, night time, are you moving i.e turning when it happens or sitting still, are your head lights set to Auto?

Did you figure this out? The dealer can get my truck fixed and it is super annoying.

HI, I HAVE 2023 TRADESMAN. SAME THING. JUST STARTED DOING THIS, 1,050 MILES. ORDERED FROM FACTORY. WHEN YOU HIT LEFT TURN SIGNAL HIGH BEAMS COME ON, NO MATTER THE SETTING. I ALSO DONT HAVE TIME TO LEAVE IT AT THE DEALER. IS THERE A WAY TO DISABLE THE HIGH BEAMS? IM THING IM GOING TO HAVE TO REMOVE THE BULBS. OR PULL A FUSE? IF ITS IN THE COMPUTER THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A WAY TO STOP IT WITH OUT AN ECM FLASH. ANY IDEAS?

I can tell you if you turn your high beams on it will function properly. I think it’s the multifunction lever but the dealer won’t replace it as they do not have a 100% assurance that is it.

OK, YES. IF YOU PUSH THE LEVER FORWARD ALL THE WAY WITH HEADLIGHTS OFF, OR WITH RUNNING LIGHT ON. IT WILL STOP ENGAGING WHEN YOU SIGNAL.
BUT WITH HEADLIGHTS ON, BRIGHTS ENGAGE WHEN YOU SIGNAL LEFT.
SO, WHEN YOU SIGNAL LEFT WITH HEADLIGHTS ON YOU CAN PUSH FORWARD THE LEVER AND IT WITH STOP THE BRIGHTS. BUT ONCE YOU STOP LEFT SIGNAL YOU HAVE TO PULL THE LEVER BACK CAUSE BRIGHTS GET TRIGGERED AGAIN.

SO, SOMETHING IS CROSS WIRED BETWEEN HEADLIGHTS, AND LEFT TURN SIGNAL.

CONCLUSION, EITHER IN HARDWARE WIRING IN THE LEVER ON STEERING WHEEL, TO FUSE, TO INDIVIDUAL LIGHTS, or COMPUTER PROGRAMED ISSUE.

THANKS AOE33 FOR CONFIRMATION

I WILL TRY TO WORK ON A SOLUTION

Mine is doing the same thing, if I’m sitting at an intersection the high beams will turn off after about 5 seconds while the turn signal still functions. It also seems to depend on the lighting outside because there are instances where the high beams don’t come on with the left turn signal.

With all due respect and I (as others likely do) appreciate your continued offers to help RAM owners but I think you should go to a RAM dealership's service department for the experience and discover just how incompetent and their display of unwillingness to help. The BS that comes out of the mouth of the service advisor is beyond amazing, and for them to think we are that ignorant to buy into their nonsense is brazen and at the same time infuriating.

I know not all dealerships are like this but the vast majority are. I've had experiences with five RAM dealers before I found a decent one and even they get a little insulting.

It takes weeks to get an appointment. Once you get in you hear they can't duplicate the customer's concern or if they do, no parts to repair. Tell you they are not paid to diagnose the issue just find it. If you record the issue and show them, they tell you they need to see it happen to fix it. Well, vehicles and issues don't always cooperate.

I bought a 2023 2500 Big Horn 6.7 this week. Drove it at night for the first time tonight and same thing. Signaling for a left turn, HBs come on. Stop with left signal on, complete turn and HBs come on. 300 miles on the truck

It has to be a defective turn signal switch lever, the only problem the steering wheel has to be removed to replace it!!!
