So I've been looking into tires....What are most common tires that everyone is going with? I want to stay with a load range E because I tow a camper during the summer and its one of the reasons I bought a 3/4 ton. I want to stay with either same as factory 285/60/20 or a little taller. I searched the threads but couldn't find anything so I'm sorry if there is a post out there... No leveling kit and not lifted fyi

thanks for any input

285/75r18 Toyo AT II's would be a good choice for a highway tire.

The BFG All Terrain KO2's would work as well for a big more aggressive tread. The LT series in several sizes are rated as a Load Range E tire and would fit your truck just fine.

I've had both types of tires and got good service from them both. I am currently running the BFG KO2's in a 35x12.50 R 18's with a 2" level on 18x9 wheels with a +18mm offset. I ran the Toyo's on the same truck and wheels with no level kit for a while and I had no rubbing issues at all.

I put Copper Discoverer AT3's on my last truck. Much better than the stock OEM tires. Not overly aggressive, very quiet and smooth.

Also check out BFG KO series, Bridgestone Revos, Hankook Dynapro ATM, Nitto Terragrapplers, and Goodyear Duratracks. They all get good reviews, just depends on the price you want to pay and how aggressive you want the tread.

I haul campers for a living. Cooper sucks. Period. 80k or whatever they rated at. You get what you pay for. I've kindled to Firestone transforce E rated tires and I get 160k miles out of them
. don't cheap out on what keeps you rolling, safely and reliably!

My firestone transforce tires suck.... No traction in anything. I got 16k on mine and I have like 25% tread left...

Just got rrid of my 99 dodge 2500 V-0 BEAST for this lil 1/2 ton 1500

Simply cannot beat Michelin LTX M/S, ran nothing else, on my 99. Tried all kinds of tires, with my 77Ford F-250, over teh years, until I went with the Michelins and never looked back. Since then, have bought FIrestoen Blizzaks, for teh wwife and kids cars and winter driving. I still ran LTX M/S's

Positively hate the Goodyears SR-A's on my new truck and will be replacing them Michelins, most likely.

Even though I can get Firestone Desitnation A/T's for under $800, out the door, the Michelins are worth teh extra $300-$400 ..

My 2016 Laramie came with LT275/70R 18E Firestone Tires
I will either replace them soon with Goodyear or B.F. Goodrich Tires. I had Goodyear Wrangler Pro-Grade on my Ford that I just got rid of. I had almost 85k on those tires.

I've got 17k on my stock Firestones, and they still have plenty of tread left. Will probably need to be replaced by 30k though. My 2011 Ram 1/2-ton came with Goodyear SR/A's and they were junk by 28k with little to no towing. I bought BFG Long Trails next go around and they were junk in under 35k (with a 40 or 45k warranty). I put Cooper RT2(or 3) on next, and had 21k on them when I traded in the truck. Those tires had between 1/2 and 2/3 of their tread left.

My buddy runs Coopers exclusively on his 3/4-ton diesels, and he tows over 15k once or twice a week. He only gets about 25-30k on them, but that's not too bad for the kind of driving he is doing.

I'm still running the OEM Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors @33k miles. Still ~50% tread. Will replace with same unless I lift the truck.

I know you get what you pay for in the Michelins but I want something that looks a little more aggressive. I've ran the BFG's KO before on my Jeep and loved them. My neighbor has some Nitto Terra Grapplers and they look sweet but his truck isn't a daily driver.... I've never ran cooper tires before but have read a lot about and they seem to be a good tire. My OEM Goodyears on my 1500 only lasted 20k and I had to replace them and they SUCKED !!!!! The Firestones have been holding up somewhat ok but the traction isn't that great.

I used to have a set of BFG All-terrain KO's on an old 1998 V-10 Ram, and I loved them. But the reviews I have read about them lately is that they do not last anymore. I experienced that on my 2011 1/2-ton. BFG apparently changed the rubber compound they use, and in-turn the tires do not seem to last as long (on trucks anyways).

I will be getting Coopers or Michelins for my next set.

Roadrunner if you don't like Coopers don't get them. They towed great for me and the tread seemed to be holding up fine. The price was right too.

Steel Curtain it all really depends on how you drive, how often you rotate, and how much you haul. If you don't want a rougher, noisier ride and don't tow or haul much go with all-season. If you do tow or want a more aggressive look then try LT/OR tires. Spend some time reading actual owner reviews...don't just take the word of someone who had a cousin that had a friend who knew a guy that knows how to spell the word tire :happy107:

Can't wait to put the Michelin A/T 2's on this truck. Secretly wishing the stock Firestone's burn up as quickly as some on here have mentioned.

Duh? 160k from Firestone's?????

160kilometers on 4 tires = 40k per tire = 24,000 miles per tire???

Or 16,000 miles per tire???

Typo??

Whatever you do don't get Mastercraft axt. Don't know what cooper's name is for it. I have a set on our jeep grand cherokee and they are LOUD. They have been rotated properly also. Only have about 15k on them. I like **** cepek brand. The trail country seem to be good. My cousin has a set on his f150 and likes them.

I just put Toyo Open Country AT2s on my truck. I settled on 295/60/20. They're definitely louder on the highway than the stock Firestones - but not bad at all. They are really aggressive looking.
