Hello, Just looking for some feedback from the guys that have been running MaxLife in the 4th gen 1500 Rams, with the 8HP70 8 speeds.
Just turned over 60000 miles on my 2017 was going to change my pan and fluid.
I thought I would check to see what your opinions are on your choice of MaxLife.
I appreciate your time.
Thank You

Stat sheet has maxlife and zf8 fluid identical, stat sheet shows redline and amsoil much more like what they "say" zf8 fluid is as in pao base oil. No reason to not use maxlife in place of zf8 fluid, if you want to upgrade I'd prefer amsoil multi vehicle to redline d6, based on the forum experiences. zf fluid thread. For an 8 speed that operates HOT, it would be wise to use the high quality choices, but for average zf8 use, maxlife is the way to go. Not sure if there are choices, make sure you buy the correct one if there are different maxlife's.

ZF Fluid

Viscosity at 100°C 5.6
Pour point -42°C

Maxlife multi-

Viscosity at 100°C 5.9
Pour Point -42c
Add a impressive VI at 163
Very decent fluid.

Redline d6-

Vis @ 100°C, CSt 6.3
Pour Point, °C -60
VI 163

Amsoil Multi

Vis @ 100, 6.3
Pour point, -65c
VI, 159

Anyone run Maxlife and still have a warranty? I've used Maxlife in many cars of different brands/types....always worked perfect. Per my '16 manual, Ram states "Use only Mopar ZF 8&9 Speed ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid, or equivalent". The catch is "or equivalent"....which technically opens the door for any fluid that is spec'd for the ZF 8HP. At least that's the way I read it.
