I have seen a few threads here before. For some reason I cant search the threads with my smartphone..... dumb phone.

Thinking about upgrading the res of my exhaust. Already have the mbrp.system from cat back.

Has anyone done headers on their 06 1500 HEMI 4x4?

Is it worth it? And if so which should I look into?

Its still my daily driver so need them legal.

Thanks

You will get best bang for your buck with long tube headers. Running a 4x4 complicates things a little from a fitment perspective.

As far as being legal, you will need to check with your local DOT, but most will have a statement like "50 state legal" or something similar.

Give a shout at our good friends from Moe's Performance (one of our prefered vendors here), they are very helpful and will be able to get you the best setup and advice for your needs.

Hope this helps.

Best bang for buck header would be pacesetter long tubes ceramic coated. As for the whole emmisions thing, I can't really help you there living in a state that has none

Like said above, best bang for buck setup would be the Pacesetter longtubes with their Y-pipe. You can then have your stock cats opened up to 3" and welded into the Pacesetter Y to make it legal.

If you want to go all out, then ARH has a complete kit with Y-pipe and high flow cats. This system is all 304 stainless, mandrel bent, comes with o2 extensions, and clamps right onto your current exhaust.

The ARH 304 Stainless with high flow cats, and Y pipe is my future setup, even though the cost is around $1,500.00. I plan to keep my truck for a very long time, so I want the best I can get. I just have to save up the bucks to pay for them.

Anyone out there done this?

How much does this run?

i was reading online that the pacesetter long tubes are offroad use only.

Their Y-pipe is an "offroad" y-pipe because it does not come with cats. If you weld your stock cats into the Pacesetter Y, then they will be legal. We have numerous customers running this exact setup. I ran these on my 03 hemi as well, but I kept it catless as the truck was at the dragstrip every week.

I don't know about the 4x4 fitment but on a 2x I like the Pacesetter LT with dual Magnaflow cats. Haven't had any problems with state inspection.

I have found if my mileage improves then the truck is faster, if I loss mileage then I lost something. Drivability is the key in my book.

This is a picture when I got back from the weld shop just before install. You can see the Cats welded onto the pipes.
