lmao, I know that feeling, I thought I would pass out when I had to cut my frame and do an 8" notch

The first time cutting on a frame is pretty nerve racking. I've done enough notches now to not even think about it anymore and just go all gang busters on it. The little C-Notch I did on this one didn't even phase me. I was a little irritated when I realized that the Ram has a full boxed frame unlike the others I've done before and required a bit more work.

Why does it need more work.
I plan on doing a c-notch & I thought since its boxed it would be easier.

Being fully boxed, it has twice as much steel to cut through. Add in that a large portion of your cutting is where an overlapping joint is in the frame and it's not a quick cut, you are going through some thick steel and there's twice as much to cut through, so make sure you buy a lot more cutting wheels or sawzall blades than you would think you need. I went through 5 or 6 4" cutoff wheels doing mine. On a single wall, c-channel frame, I would use 1 per side.

Is there anything running through the boxed frame?
I know that a reg frame they put wires & hosed in the frame part, but don't know about this in a boxed frame.

Not in the center, but there is a brake line that runs down the driver side and the bracket will end up being cut off.

how we did mine, we plasma cut the sides and welded them in place and then finished closing them in on the truck, kept a boxed and factory look :favorites13:
