ok guys, my youth days are behind me and having a extremely loud truck is getting old...and its time to muffler shop. My truck has stock manifolds, going into a magnaflow high flow cat

then its just a single pipe till the rear axle then a split into dual

it sounds good, but when i get above 2300ish rpms it starts to get "poppy, and crackles" best way do describe it is it sounds like a glasspack muffler

well i want to keep that deep tone i have at idle-2000 rpms

i just want to get rid of that poppy exhaust note...

going on youtube i found alot of different things...but most are either too quite at idle or just dont sound good

what have you guys run on your truck that give a deep v8 rumble down low with out the annoying popping sound up high?

here is kinda the sound im going for

I love the sound of the last clip, but i know a 5.2 sounds nothing like the modern hemi

Flowmaster super 44. Deep rumble at idle, roars at higher rpms but isn't over the top loud, no popping or crackle. It's what I have and it's never been too loud for anyone.

The gutted cat will make it sound like that in most cases, yeah. But the 44 will drone like a mother anyway.
