My light bar set up...so far.

Any Pics of how you installed/cut out the lower insert for this install? I have pulled mine out but there are small "support" looking things going vertical behind the insert, I want to mount mine flush and will need to cut them. Just wanting to make sure I'm not going to ruin anything by cutting them.

What would someone recommend for a light bar on the roof, that isn't too expensive, but also isn't Chinese plastic?

For those with light bars mounted at the windshield/roof line, is there any noticeable wind noise? I really like the look of the windshield mounted light bars, and I have to imagine the output is better up top as well.

We have one on my daughter's Wrangler and there is wind noise. I know that a Ram is much better insulated than a Wrangler but I would think there would have to be some noise.

My old Ram had two types of wind noise. One came through the door and the other from the light bar itself. The former drove me crazy as it was very loud. I did everything under the sun to the light thinking it was the problem. I ended up buying automotive weather stripping from Home Depot and ran it inside my doors.

For the light bar, I installed the door sweep trim on the lower fin, which helped some.

That's it. I have a VisionX bar, however, Baja Designs just debuted a new Onx6 high power. I might pick that up. Look amazing.

Do you have a front pic, showing where and how you cut the bumper. Interested in doing this to mine.
And how's the bedliner on the bumpers holding up

I had a 42" light bar on my 11 sport and liked the fit, just noticed on my 13 sport the opening appears to be smaller and my licence plate is hanging down well into the valance area. I noticed a few other 13+ sports on here that dont seem to have this clearance issue, anyone know what the deal is with that?

Awesome, we were thinking about that as a possible solution so I'm glad that can work. Just waiting on a new wiring harness to get in and hopefully try this out sometime this week. Interested to see how its going to fit otherwise as the opening in general also seems smaller than my 11.

If you have a stock height truck and mount a bar where your valance is that's nuts.

Just to touch back on this subject for a minute, my light bar is off my old truck now and waiting to be moved to the new, and I have to say it held up very well. It was only on from August til July, and around 12,000 miles if not more but aside from being dirty the thing looks brand new. No cracks or bulbs out or discoloration or leaks. So for $90 and its making it to a second truck I'm very happy with it. My driving is mostly in town but had some road trips as well including a 1500 mile round trip to Indiana at the end of January. And although we had a mild winter they still salter the roads like there was no tomorrow.

Just curious for some feedback from others on how their lower mounted light bars have faired?

My Bars

So, my under the bumper light bar hasn't been working out to great. I had a single row RCX 50in. The screws holding it on managed to strip out somehow and then I was dragging it under my truck. My next light bar was a RCX Cree curved 50in. Long story short once again a hardware failure. RCX replaced the first one and i swapped it for the curved (originally mine). Still working on getting RCX to warranty the curved one. The one on the roof is... yes you guessed it an RCX 50in. with NFAB mounts. A questions. PM me.
