They have an aluminum looking padding that is sound deading material they use on restored car/hot rods. That should help with noise, I don't use the radio so not having one wouldn't be missed...

That would be perfect, some sound/heat proofing material underneath and some black carpet on top.

lol. i put lots of miles on my RC without an arm rest but it is a lot nicer when you do got an armrest.

I need a fourth gen bench seat in my first gen truck lol. Something with a fold down arm rest/cup holder.

That width would be easy to work with and it's just going to get covered up with carpet anyway.

your welcome. one of the local dodge truck guys was looking for sound deadener like a weak ago so i was looking things up and that stuff popped up in a couple video's. i figure it should work good. the other option was rocker guard but i figure you would probably have to put fairly thick layers of rocker guard on to make the truck sounds proof. i don't know if it will help with cab temps in the summer or not but i figure it couldn't hurt. i think some of the videos on youtube said the stuff was nearly identical to the brand name sounds deadeners at a fraction of the cost. i know i am pretty sure i seen a small piece of something like that stuff in my truck doors. it is just a small square but it must work. keeps the metal from vibrating.

Need Some Advice With 4 Barrel Carb

I've got this Quadra Jet taken apart and cleaned up
(it really wasn't that dirty)

and I'm reading that it might be better to just leave off the secondary lock-out-lever so that the secondaries will open up whether the choke is open or not. Is this a good idea? I'm just wondering if it will be prone to flooding when its cold.

It has been a very long time since I have worked on one and only remember the floats were prone to sinking. .. sorry

OK, I'll look into the float issue. I did find a couple preventative fixes involving JB Weld that I think I'll go ahead with. Thanks for the heads up.

Lol, I guess I should consider the source. Hot Rodders who don't want to lose a race because their secondaries failed to open.:roflsquared:

Lol, I did and the guy rebuilding it took the lever and pitched it over his shoulder and said " you don't need this ".

I guess its pretty common to leave them off but I don't know if there would be any disadvantages.

Only advantage I could see is if you lived right by the highway and needed to merge to 75mph before the choke was open. OR if your choke got stuck shut...but I dunno if the 4bbl would help there.

i have heard this stuff makes good sound deadener but i am not sure if you can find wider rolls or not.

My gen 2 interior arm rest rocks!

I used this for my sound deadened...worked awesome! Did my entire crew cab with 50ft.

Ahhh the old vent window seals. 1AAuto has them for 74+ Ramchargers, and I'm pretty sure they're work for the trucks.

The doors are the same on the Ramcharger, regular cab, club cab, and crew cab. So the seals for the vent windows will be the same. I am running 17 inch wheels off a 4th gen on mine. Still the same 8x6.5 bolt pattern.

Today I ordered new vent window seals from 1AAuto, thanks Guys for the recommendation. :favorites13:
I was thinking about just caulking the leaky window but then decided it would be better to fix it right.

I also ordered new carpet in what looks like the original color. Paid extra for a thicker sound/heat proof backing so we'll see if I need the rolls of metal tape or not.

you probably still want to clean and paint the floor with something water proof to make sure nothing rusts out.
