Hi there,
So have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 and had used the 4 wheel drive the other day and now truck is making a whining or whirring noise when ever I accelerate. Drives normal besides so this noise. I think it's stuck between gears but I am able to move it between 2h 4h and 4l just sounds like it's not completely disengaged. Don't know much about trucks or cars but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue or is familiar with it. Starts at about 35mph and isn't as loud around 70. Any help is appreciated thanks

Do you have mud tires and did it do this before you selected 4WD?

Have you checked fluid levels? My 01 has a whine like it too but it begins at 1500 rpm's, speed isn't a factor in mine.
