Tool number 1 is a four post lift lol.
i agree however last time it was a borrowed Gov't 6 ft folding Table, 30 inch aluminum ladder, mechanics table on wheels, paved driveway, daylight and nice weather. This time around I got fancy gravel driveway with optional Pressure treated plywood and further optional US ranger blanket.

I have access to the Auto Club hoist but if something happens that your not done by end of the day, the vehicle has to be pushed outside. So I just joined and we need to sort out the Firehall about that as I don't think I can Push my Truck on an incline on Gravel, Pretty *** set-up but my neighbors new house goin up next door is gonna have a lift right inside the house, under the living room so the future is lookin bright.

When we did my first one I had the level kit on my truck so we took off all the tires and laid it on the frame, and moved it up and down as needed. Its not all that bad really once you have done it once, the first time seems to be alot till you start putting it back together.

Danny,
I'm not doing this until next spring, so I've plenty of time to sort details and gather parts. Hell, I haven't even decide what cam to use yet.
Actually it is always kind of a knee jerk reaction whenever anyone mentions buying tools. I want to see what he has.. lol
Thanks,

Redneck it depends on how your planning on doing one, A_F has a tool he bought from Draggin Accord that makes changing the springs simple. In all honesty thats to most hassel we had but we pulled my heads and did mine on the bench. Depending on how your wanting to do yours along with what cam you want will change your parts list.

When I did my cam I thought it was going to be a lot more involved than it turned out to be. It is actually a pretty straight forward job, especially after you get done swapping the springs.

That tool from DA is great for changing the springs with the heads on. Just make sure you have a welder handy bc when I did my swap the treaded rod on the tool bent and I had to cut it off and weld a harder bolt on.

Good Point Teach! Had I known about that Cool DA Tool I would not have had to remove the Brake Booster, which ended up Costing me Two new Driver side Calipers cause the bleeder screws were seized and snapped off!

I have the DA spring tool, but I plan to change heads at the same time I do the cam. But you know the old saying "man can't have too many tools".

If your changing heads at the same time then just unbolt your headers or pull the headers at the same time and its a peice of cake. Main toll you will need is the crank puller and another on but its slipping my mind at the moment.

Kenneth any idea when your Cam will arrive from Crower/Stu? Day 20 here, sent email again, tried calling, full msg box, I figure when you get yours I should prolly receive my pay-pal for shipping notice which will also be my update from Bob (as that is what happened with my last e-fan order) since our orders where close together date wise thru Inertia..

Still haven't heard anything at all? Is it that hard for someone to take 30 seconds to write you an email?

There is no excuse for that. You are going on four weeks, I would be pissed to have to wait that long on a part to arrive.

Thanks I think were gettin close! I was asked to confirm LSA on the 3rd, you ordered the 4th and I spoke to STu on the 6th and he confirmed then it had been ordered up, so I am confident I should get the shipping bill soon! My 6.1 oil pump should be in tommorrow! Was it you who mentioned the 6.1 timing chain will fit as well cause I was wonderin if there is a difference. Was also lookin at the Mobil Oil filters tonight and there are two different models for the 5.7 and 6.1 but to look at them they are the same. On the Box they claim to be able to handle 6x the normal pressure so i am thinkin I might try one out (14 Bucks). Currently runnin the K&N HP2004 and like it cause of the 1" nut. The 03 Model is a crap set-up as when you loosen the filter you get Oil spill all over the rack. Was thinkin I could make a DIY pan to fit in there to redirect the mess off there into my drain pan. I also heard some later Hemis have some type of sheet metal guide under there for that, is this True?

Thanks Dude!

Your right Teach, 30 Seconds and I put the important red exclamation Tag on the email to no avail. I can say that the $2800 bucks of stuff I had in my shoppin cart is now reduced to a ported TB and Red Poly Leaf spring Bushings! I will look-up that Fast-man Fellow when that time comes.

I dont think the 6.1 timing set will work and I can say for sure the 6.1 oil filters wont work due to my dad has a 6.1 superbee and we looked at them one time. When my dealer closed up by us we bought 2 cases of filters for my truck and checked it on his car on one of the changes. The thread count is different but the housing is the same.
