overhead console

I'm new to the forum. I just picked up an 02 1500 Quad cab.

I noticed the dome light doesn't turn on when I open the driver's side door or rear driver's side door, but works when i open the passenger side doors. And the overhead console is completely black.

Could this be a fuse? I want to try to troubleshoot myself before I shell out cash.

Hmm, could be the switches on the inside of the doors? Check to make sure they are not stuck down. Those actual switches go bad sometimes too....so you can replace one of them fairly cheaply and easily to find out.

Also....the early 2000s models have had some problems with electrical stuff. I have dash lights that go on and off. My window switches don't always work on all doors except the drivers door. My brother-in-laws '03 is the same way.
