Today was the first day since putting the Pace Edwards Tonneau cover on my truck that I have traveled at 70mph for a sustained period.

I kept hearing a random rattling. Then it would stop then do it again. This went on for about 30 thinking something was loose under the truck. Then it dawned on me. I tilted the mirror down and could see the metal slates bouncing up and down..

It seemed that from 65-75 mph the air rides over the cab and smashes right on the cover. A little faster it stops and little slower it stops. WTF.

For those that don't know. It's s retractable metal slat cover. I know more than one of you is gonna tell me that doesn't happen on the bac flip, or other model... Blah blah blah.

$900 and the radio doesn't play loud enough to drown out the noise..

If anyone has any helpful ideas aside from selling it and buying your brand, I'm all ears..77ae9cde50cce19e8a55e3d8c63ea049.jpg569452b9b7969e59309fc955c8c191c6.jpg64cf2be91e20d803813bb9cc0bd9e963.jpg

Did you install it or have someone else do it?

Sounds loose, and needs to be either re-aligned or tightened down.

I had similar model that I bought in 2003, rattled until it finally gave out in 2016 but only when going over repeated bumps like on dirt roads. It never really bothered me and wasn't that noticeable, but maybe your top is rattling much worse. Only thing I can think of is to adjust the tracks in towards each other very slightly. It might tighten things up a bit, but will make it harder to slide. Good luck.

I had a pace-edwards jack rabbit on my 07 Chevy and a roll-n-lock on my 16 RAM. Both of them seemed to rattle at high speeds. It was basically the slats moving up and down in the wind. I never heard it though with the windows up. I only heard my roll-n-lock when my rear window was open. I don't know if this helps but I thought I would share.
