Can anyone tell me what I need to do to take off my radio bezel so I can paint it? I'm thinkin it's 3 screws... but wanna make sure I'm doin it right before I go tearin it apart
one behing the power out let adapter 2 on top where the dodge tray is and 2 on very bottom where the rubber storage thing is oh ya must take out top and bottom rubber things lol maybe this will help
On the thrid gen there is one lonelt screw holding it all. Look for the lill hanger plastic peice under the passenger airbag control and you will see it. Pull that screw then carefuly pull out the center peice it will be from vent to vent on out trucks and you will have to undo 2 electrical clips.
I usually just take a screwdriver to mine and start prying. Easy way to find out where the clips are for next time... and so far I'm 100% on this truck.
Hahahah, well.. I can't decide if I want to just paint the main bezel itself which is like a bright brushed aluminum, or should I paint the whole piece that comes out? ( just not the vents )... On my truck, the brushed aluminum bezel can't disconnect from the black dash piece, it's like glued on there...
Thinkin I might paint the entire dash piece that comes off, just not the vents and the area around the cig lighter and air bag switch... that way it'd be more gray
Hmm.... I wish I had another color to tie in to the interior... I am paintin it to match my truck. Oh well, I guess I can always just start with the bezel itself and see what I think about it
Kristin your better off trading or selling yours, I had to buy that style from dodge and they are ALOT of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I might still have my OEM one in the garage but that silve peice is attached at the factory with alot of adheasive.
Oh, it's alright! I just taped off around it. I got the bezel painted right now gonna let the clear dry for about an hour or more. Here's a pic:
Like I said, I wish my truck was a diff color so it'd stand out more, but it's a subtle change.
I'll post pics of the finished product installed in the truck
