IMG_20191228_103633.jpg Those that have done the folding rear seat mod, what are you guys doing to mount a rifle/shotgun rack. I'd like to be able to secure my truck gun and maybe a go bag behind the rear seat but don't want it just flopping around. Let me see your ideas please

I don't have a rack back there, but for my audio equipment I bonded a piece of composite board to the back wall to mount to. Should be able to do the same, but screw rifle mount brackets to it instead.

When you say "bonded" what do you mean. How did you attach it? Got any pics?

I put down dynamat first, which is a butyl based sound deadener and very sticky and then epoxy on the board to the dynamat so I could get it off, but not easily. I don't have pictures of mine, but this shows you how much can be fit back there.https://www.ramforum.com/threads/new-amps-and-a-really-full-back-wall.120934/
Holy mother of AMPs!!!! Thanks for the info. I may you with your idea a bit. If like to be able to store a shorty rifle, a vest with mags, and probably my trusty axe back there.

So you cut the cloth out of the back of the seat and there's that much room in there???

Some of these guys are saying tool boxes, etc.... anyone have a pic of the backseat cloth removed???

That is pretty cool indeed... but why I was asking about rear space is cuz of my 2 ARs and when I go to and from the hunting cabin...

Will these 50" L x 3 1/2" thick AR gun boxes fit back there?? stacked of course... (all i would need mounted to the back wall is straps to hold them there)

In my search I found these:

I'm thinking of buying a few sets and mount them on the rear wall, thru the carpet pad, and use them to hold a rifle, vest/cheat rig, and my axe. Once I get it done I will upload some pictures. All of the reviews claim they hold tons of weight without having to drill. We'll see

Don't think both would fit in the cases. The bracket between the 60/40 is fairly tight to the wall and the seat has to be able to go up against the wall a little to fold them up. With some layout they might both fit without the cases because you could set them down lower and have the barrels just above the brackets.

Part of the problem is the middle seatbelt retractor assenbly. That sucker takes up alot of space on the floor. My GSD pup decided she didn't like being left in the truck when we went shopping one day and decided to tear the belt on the middle and drivers side. When I did the seat mod, I just removed the center belt lock-stock and barrel (still need to replace the drivers belt). I have a 3 platform stepladder that I used to get into the bed back there and would have to remove the center belt assembly anyway.

from the ladder's website "Folding dimension:18.5''W x4''Thickness x48.5''H"
