Most flares will leave marks once removed. It really depends on how long they have been on the truck, and how well the owner took care of it. If you dont want them, then I would see if the seller would remove them for you to check.

is it something that i can get rid of? are they glued on or something? I dont care if they leave a mark but if i can get it to a nice finish then i wouldnt mind removing them myself but if there will be a permanent mark then i dont want it lol

You can get rid of the marks. Mostly, it's just a dirt line. A good wash and wax takes care of most of it. A good buff out will take are of anything else. Any paint tint differences will soon not be noticeable.

What happens though is that dirt gets trapped under the flares...then as the truck vibrates, it puts very fine scratches in the paint until it wears through the clearcoat. I have seen this on many trucks which is why I will never buy a used truck with flares.

I'd say a clay bar would help clean up the markings from the flare tape.

I had to remove one of mine (defective tape) a week after installing it and it was a PITA. Definitely recommend asking the seller to remove the flares as part of the deal.

I washed it before putting them back on and the line went right away, didnt bother trying to feel for a line or anything after washing cause I was in a time crunch
Not sure why he only has the rear

Mine has the lines. I clay bared, Fukked, washed, everything. Still has them. I only ran the flares for a year. I'm probably going to get another set just to cover the lines.

When i turned in my '05 SWB 1500 in '08 (it was a lease). I took the fender flares I installed on it off, it had lines also. Mostly around the back wheel wells. I tried everything I could think of to rid of them, almost got them completely off but you could still see a faint line. The had they rubber seal too, its just the normal vibration of the truck that causes it.
