replace oil dif with 40k km??

Hey folks

I have a 2018 1500 sport with 40k km...I normally take the truck to get its service on the dealership cuz I got some good discounts...last time having an oil change done, they gave me a report saying that for the next service around 46k km I would need to replace the dif oil...it seems very soon for a non-working truck

when is it normal t change the dif oil?

I change my diffs and tcase at 40k MILE intervals, they're usually quite clean still.

Dealer likely fishing for service, in this case.

I'm doing my rear diff now at 42k, just for grins.
I'll prob do the front in another 10k and the Tcase as well...

Very easy service to do, amsoil severe gear has bags you don't even need a pump, you need 3 quarts 75w140 for rear, 75w90 for front diff. Did you get a cost on it from dealer? It is like easier then engine oil to change if you are just swapping fluid and not taking off cover. I can guarantee the dealer wont be taking cover off, unless we are talking like 200 bucks.

If towing the rec. interval is every 20k miles per the maint. schedule in the owners manual.
Other than the fleet/off road/towing schedule, the owners manual doesn't give a mileage to change the diff oil, just inspect it.
