Replace transmission or wait?

I need to replace my transmission. 318 loses oil pressure on e it heats up.
Should I replace the transmission now and wait till the engine goes to replace that? Or replace them both when I have the money? I'd like to put 360 in it. I'm assuming the transmission is the same for both engines.

1992 w150 automatic. 318ci.

I dont need to get the truck running right away

The transmission will be the same. The engine swap will require a different PCM for the 360. The PCM's are very year/option specific also.

Get a rebuilt rans. Don't wait. They can be dangerous when you hit the accelerator and nothing happens and you can't get out of the way.
Fix the engine later when it needs it.

The transmission is already toast. It wont move at all
