It looks good in the engine bay. Kinda all business with that clear lid.

Has your S&B CAI come in from TNE yet?

I was speaking with S&B in California today and they said orders to their Canadian warehouse are back ordered until the first week of September.

I am in Ottawa next week, if Tim can get one by then I would call and order from him.

I've talked to him on Monday, he said he was on the phone with S&B and it was in Cali, then had to come up to the Canadian warehouse, then here. Said maybe 2 weeks, which would put it late next week or just after.

OK thanks, I will give him a call tomorrow.

I called hottexhaust today and he said he will have them next week and they ship for free.

Said they should be on their website soon, so we'll see...wish I had your patience lol!

Lol, all good, everything eventually happen. I waited 9 weeks for my truck, had the Magnaflow catback and catch can in the basement for 10 weeks hahahahaha. Didn't take long to get them on the truck when it finally came.
Tim is a good guy, talk to him and see what he can do.

Not to discredit you in any way...but when I called to order Robin, put me on hold for a min to make sure manufacturing would have the part ready for release on the 4th. So apparently they did change something, while it might be insignificant. I will have what they claim as the new part tomorrow. I'll take some pictures and see if we can see a difference. I paid 299...

I bet you $100 it's the same part everyone else is using. I've been in this game for 28 years...I've seen this situation countless times with new year models and parts. If the older part will fit the new model they don't change anything...they just verify it fits and call it good. I know people in the industry that just go rent the new models to check part fitment. It's cheap to disassemble rental cars. LOL

Well they are a business, and when you would call S&B over the last few months and ask about 2014 application, they would tell you "it is in a refitment stage". Any business would sell you a part if they can make a sale if that part works. They weren't. Tells me it did need some reworking. Otherwise they would be throwing kits out there to make some dough.

It's been confirmed on other forums that the 2013 intake works on the 14 without any issues.

Sure it might work...that does not mean it's optimal.

I am sure if works great, but if there is a small change that can be made that makes it sit better, or bolt on better then so be it.

No one is saying anything about performance of the CAI itself, I think its just more to do with fit and finish.

from S&B:

Apparently Dodge has moved the location of the AC lines that has been the reason why we have released a different kit for the 2013 and 2014. So the inlet tube is different between the two.

I posted this in another thread yesterday, but will put it here as well. The 75-5064 kit is what is used on all 09-12 Hemi trucks. With the new location of the AC lines on the 2013's, S&B came out with the 75-5066 kit for the '13 and '14 trucks. They have now released a new 75-5078 kit that they label for the 2014 simply because 1 of the AC line brackets was close to the airbox...it does not touch, rub, or interfere with the install in any way, but S&B just wanted to put a little more clearance there just in case. All they did was put a small "dent" in the airbox at this location, and everything else about the kit is identical to the 75-5066 kit that so many 2014 customers are already running with great success. Once the 75-5066 kits have been sold out, S&B is going to discontinue that part# and just switch them all over to the 75-5078 kit. There is absolutely no fitment issues whatsoever with the 75-5066 kit on either the 2013 or 2014 Hemi trucks.

I'm looking at ordering one of these, which would be better, oiled or dry?

I have experience cleaning K&N filters, but it is a pain...

I ordered the dry. When the filter is toast I'll just buy another replacement for it, they aren't too expensive.
I also ordered the filter sock, so it should help to keep the filter clean for longer.

Always lean towards dry. Oil based filters let too much dirt through.
