Hello everyone. just bought a 1985 Dodge D150 w/slant 6 motor. Truck runs and drives great but when I put it in reverse it shutters. any ideas? also anybody know where I can get the end part to the kick down linkage? it has the part connector to the tranny but not the piece the connects it to the Carb. thanks in advance

What does the fluid look like? Have you changed the fluid & filter? Early Mopar Trannys are pretty bullet proof. If fluid & filter are good try adding some Lucas tranny additive.

If you do a fluid and filter change (Which probably wouldn't be a bad idea) I would suggest putting Type F fluid in it. 727's and 904's, especially ones with some miles on them, like it much better than dex 3 or the universal stuff. While you have the pan off, you might adjust the reverse band for good measure.
