Snugtop fitment question

Just bought a SnugTop for my 2014 1500 quad cab and after getting home it doesn’t seem to line up right.

The guy I bought it from had a 2018 2500 but I assumed it would be the same bed?

The top corners contact the cab before the topper is all they way forward, it needs to be go another 3/4in it looks like.

Only thing else I can think of is that he could have had a crew cab and the body is shaped differently than the quad cab?

Thats odd almost looks like the whole thing needs to sit higher up missing shims or something maybe? not sure never had one.

You could try checking with a Snug Top dealer and see if there is any difference between the 2 trucks as far as fit and model go.

You might need to adjust your bed’s height in relation to your cab
Bolts that attach the bed to the frame have isolators like bushings if you reduce or change them out with shorter ones it may change the angle of how they meet.
A body shop should be able to figure it out it’s not that difficult but it does require a little trial and error.
I’ve seen a lot worse , but it seems it might be touching over bumps and you should adjust it before too long.

That shell looks like it was made for 3rd gen Rams.

Here's a pic of a 2004, that has that rounded back of the cab. Looks like it would match up to that shell.

The 2004 looks to have more of a curve.

The 2500 Mega Cab seems to have more of a curve than the crew cab

I assume it's the shape of the Quad Cab. Maybe the camper shell isn't made for QC.

I had a SnugTop on my Gen4 CC short bed and cab and shell lined up perfectly.
Im my opinion one of the best looking shells you can get.

I thought maybe but it has the correct glass that seals around the rounded shape of the 4th gen tailgate. I think the shapes of the back of the quad vs crew cab are different.

That shell looks like it was made for 3rd gen Rams.

Here's a pic of a 2004, that has that rounded back of the cab. Looks like it would match up to that shell.

That looks real nice and what I was hoping for! This shell was only $100 so I may just try and shave it down to not rub.

when i was looking for a topper for my truck i believe there was a difference between the quad cab vs crewcab toppers , curvature of cab is different between the two cabs.
