I have a 2012 1500, when I am backing up I’m getting a squeal somewhere from the back end. I changed the rear rotors and pads and still there. I thought maybe it was the parking brake on the drivers side since it was all rusted and falling apart. So since I don’t use it I just removed it. Still squealing. Anyone have any ideas ?

Hmm. Maybe u joint? That's about all I could see causing a squeak. Did you get semi metallic pads? Sometimes they like to make noise right out the box.

Ya I just had the drive shaft out, they don’t have any play in them. They pads are ceramic ones.

Well that makes no sense. [emoji53]

Right lol the only thing I haven’t done yet was check the passenger side parking break. It was just as rusted and the other side, just not falling apart

It's possible but I kinda dont think so. tried jacking it up and rotating the tires by hand?
Could also have someone jump on the bumper while you listen too.

I haven’t tried jacking it up but I did jump on the bumper. Can hear a slight squeak

The reason I ask is if its a u-joint or brakes it usually does increase the repetition of the sound as you speed up. Maybe you could record the sound and post it.

So I just got some tires installed on the truck. Apparently my right rear bearing is bad. Would that be the cause on the squealing ?
