Its a lot harder on the trans. O/D adjusts the shift points for higher rpms while towing. Having it lug in the higher gear will cause the fluid to overheat and can cause damage to the trans. Yes even on freeway. Just don't do it. Anyone else care to chime in and explain it better?

Nah man you got it. I went camping this weekend and was pulling my camper which was about 20-25 foot. Towing with OD off is really nice. I was going on an on ramp which was on a pretty good incline and I put the petal to the floor and dragged the some ***** up to 70 before I was even off the on ramp. I cant even imagine what 4.10 gears would be like if im dragging my camper around with stock gears lol
