Lmao!! Air Thad
how do you compensate for hard rain driving? does it have a water trap?
I doubt it too.I highly doubt it's going to have any trouble with rain.
Thank you sir. This is similar to the Challenger Hellcat air box intake. Nice work there.
Do you think a screen (like one from a window) would help break the water apart fixing the problem?Had a 'snorkel/ram air tube' on a Volant system once.
A Chebby where the Volant snorkel faced forward through a OEM opening in the bumper.
Small children? NO
Sand? YES
Water? YES
Actually blasted the filter with both, leaving visible pinholes in the filter medium and a 'white' area where it has washed the blue filter oil out,,,
Probably one of the worst 'hundred dollar mods' I've ever encountered.
Doesn't mean what we see here will be affected the same way, but,,,, something to look for/keep in mind,,,

OP keep us posted on gains/losses if any!
Yeah good idea about the bugs!I thought about putting some screen door material on the grill inlet. Mainly to keep out the bugs. Im not too worried about rain or sand. If i lived on the coast it would be a different story.
I'm thinking about doing this too. Did you have an original write up you used?
I know there is one out the web, but I like this forum and it's easier to find things.
A screen will help the big critters from getting ingested, but even a 'few' single layers of screen would do very little against water travelling at speed,,,
Houston uses sand in the winter months for 'ice' (Don't laugh,,, Ice or not, they spread it out every time it 'might' get below 32,,,)
It eventually somewhat blows/washes off the road, but stays with us year-round on the shoulders/next to barricades. A semi goes by, swirls it all up again,,, back out on the road it goes,,, Windshields around here get covered with little 'pits' in no time,,, =(
