ok guys. so now that I have my full Kicker speaker set on it's way for my 2010 Ram Sport...I'm looking to add subs to finish off the sound in my truck. I need to be budget conscious so I'm looking for input and advice. There seems to be a lot of good deals on Amazon...but I am not sure how these will work.

I'd like some advice and feedback if any of you have these kits (and what amplifier you would suggest) and if these kits are not worth while...please suggest what you think I should look into?

Also...should I be shooting for dual 10" subs? 12" subs? a single sub? Please help me make a smart decision.

budget minded, buy a single 10" sub and a 250-500 watt amp and call it good. Match airspace requirements of sub to the box. Don't go cheap on the box...it'll make or break the outcome

Check in to Skar Audio on Amazon. Quality, budget friendly product that ships pretty fast through amazon. I just bought a 10” 400W sub from them. It was $69.99. Now I’m sure you could go bigger and better, but for what I was looking for in a sub system, it’ll do me just fine.

that dual Harmony 10" flatline sub box at $209.99 from Amazon looks pretty good to me. I've never heard of Harmony...but maybe this would be great? As for amplifiers...I have no idea what i'll use. I'm open to suggestions.

I also have an offer of a sealed box with 2 Alpine Type S subs in it locally used for a decent price ($250.00 CAD) that' I'm considering.

Choose your amp first, then get sub box. You could find an amp that does max power at 2 ohm, or 1 ohm. Then choose the sub box and subs.

Never heard of Harmony.

damn so many options and it's really hard to know if one of these less expensive amps would be work well and be worth it or not. I am not looking to shake the neighbourhood...just have solid clean impactful bass in my truck to match my soon to be in Kicker speakers.

here's another question. Can I run dual subs off a single channel amplifier? or do I need 2 channel?

Good amp. good quality.

actually this amp looks pretty good for the money and should run dual 10 or 12" subs right?

I'd stay away from these. Not made very well.

No. Junk.

The JL is probably the best you've posted yet. Look into Sundown, DC Audio, Rockford Fosgate, or Kicker for a good amp. They might cost a little more, but they'll last a lot longer, therefore saving you in the long run.

Single channels work fine depending on your final impedence. Most amps run down to 1 ohm, except for the Kicker amp. They don't do 1 ohm afaik. Find the sub impedance and go from there.

This guy sells good stuff. Not junk. The skar amps are good for the money, but I'm not sure on the longevity. Everything else may be a little pricey, but will last longer.

Here's another place beside Crutchfield that sells car audio. They have some junk brands, but a lot of good brands.

Forgot to add this to look at good enclosures. I've got one and it sounds 100x better than the sealed p.o.s. I had previously.

Just throwing this out there.... why not a Kicker Hide-away? About $150 and includes everything you need.

actually I just looked at it. I'm not sure an 8" sub is going to have enough bump to fill the truck and keep up with the new Kicker speakers I'm putting in. I don't need to shake the house..but I DO want to feel it and have some punch when the music calls for it.
