m1 fs 0w40 is 26 bucks at wally for 5 quart, kinda stupid good pricing imo. That would be the direction I'd go, drop that LG in too.

M1 if it's on sale is a pretty decent price at Canadiain Tire to.Right now the 4.73 litre jugs of Pup are about 39 bucks and Mobit 1 is 46 bucks for 5.73 litres. I'll go with which ever combo you guys think is best,as i'm not up on oils anywhere near as much,so i'm deferring to the experts, lol

M1 FS is what Travis mentioned, new in 5W-30.
Had been in 0W-40 and 5W-40.
Again, not for GDI motors, I think.

both oils are SP, 0w40 is sn+, doesnt say 5w30 is but isnt SP good enough for lspi? No pao in 5w30, but those numbers are in 0w40. Either weight chalked full of great specs.

SP ensures LSPI formula is what I recall. SN+ was interim.

Surprising anyone would make an SP oill spiked with ZDDP. I don't get that at all. Maybe little turbo GDI motors are wearing too fast.

I consider Redline as the oil with a guarantee. It would be easy to just say, use Redline and forget about it. I'm tempted myself. However, where I live Redline isn't always available and therefore finding readily available, cheaper alternatives is a good idea.
I would just try it, keep the OCI short and have it tested to see the results. With the high moly, it might be a great contender. I would check the visco compared with an oil like PUP 5w30.
If i were you i would roll on with redline and when redline is not available when you need to change your oil pick mobil 1 FS 0w40

The general rule is moly=positive zddp=positive calcium=negative magnesium=neutral

I'll have to start looking at SP OA's...initially we were noticing the Ca vs Mg swap - I don't recall anyone seeing zinc or moly boosts.

M1 is often on sale on Amazon just paid $71US for 15 quarts.
Walmart usually has the 12 quart bag in a box in stores for $60.

I’ll send my 2 redline oil samples off when I do my oil change and keep you posted on the m1 + Lubeguard.

Any thoughts on adding more than 1qt since I’m using 0w40?

Redline is 71/11.9 cst at 40/100° C respectively.

M1 0w40 is 78/13.8 cst

I didnt read this thread, just first search result m1fs 0w40 in a ram, and it is ugly. I wanna say oil had nothing to do with it, but I wanna see more hemi uoas. For now still a ton of potential, maybe a total outliar? The oil looks outstanding, too bad this even exists.

My guess is it has to be coincidence That it happened when he switched oils. He did a couple more short ocis with different oils that showed elevated iron wear so he pulled the cam and lifters and found the cam not to be properly hardened.
