From what I have seen reading here these oil companys change there oil formula when ever they want and unless you do a uoa on them you dont really know what they changed.

Its running fine, hooked up my 20 foot car trailer yesterday and went and got 5000lbs of rock and it pulled it great never missed a beat..lol
It had to have had water in the fuel for it to be fine now. I wont be going back to that station again.
That is fantastic news !!

It's not only the formula, it's the new standards. If it wasn't for Amsoil makeing such a big deal over it and redline coming out with a new line of oil, and of course all the updates on here, I don't know that people would even be aware of Gen2. Haven't seen any major adds or news about it. You'd think with all the DI engines nowa days that it'd be all over the place.

Tulet: My 3 1/4 cents!
RP oil does not have a stellar reputation within these walls as well as over at BITOG {Bob is the Oil Guy forum}

If you have faith in this oil. Do your first OCI with your RP and K&N filter then do a UOA.
If you do make sure you post your results here.
I know a lot of members would be interested in seeing your results.

Ya just have to understand a lot of members here have Zero Respect for the RP oil but all the Respect in the world for their Oil Filters.
Most here just believe there are more higher quality oils {Robust/Stouter} out there (Better Suited} for the 5.7L Hemi.

I by No Means am claiming RP oil is poor quality.
Most believe the Additive Package within most of the RP oils are just not ideal for the design of this 5.7L motor.

You can be the first to prove to these members {It is a good/decent choice}.

Visit back and Report your initial thoughts of the oil and filter combo...Once you have done the service and have accumulated a few hundred miles.

Good Luck! Congrats on the Ram!
Great advice SyN !

You are 100% correct!
The formulations are constantly Changing.. Due to regulations or EPA {Government} or the rising costs of certain additives.
He!! even todays crazy engine designs are playing a decent part in it.
0W-16 / 0W-10 more still coming.

I did notice a VOA from Toyotas 0W-16 last month: Had over 200ppm of Moly!

They might not be as often with the Boutique Oils but the Shelf bought oils by the big players are changing at least once a year.

Interesting Discussion and Read for those that have time.

:cheers:--->Miller High Life!

I try to respect everyone choice!
I hate being perceived as a arrogant A$$ or A$$ Hat.

I truly would like to see a UOA with his selected combo..
I hope he does a UOA and posts it...

Not judging, just informing. Royal Purple is no longer what it was when the oil guys loved it, neither are some other oils uhum. As for a RP in diffs and tranny's, just don't do it. The engine application is very forgiving, you can get away with a lot, but the diffs especially will weed out gimmicks, and you wont like the lesson. Internet your rp in diffs and damage, and read. You can't even mention royal purple in the 4x4 forum I'm on, it was the suspect in way too many fails. Yes it is a 4x4 forum so **** breaks, but not like this. All I have past that was at one point 6 cam fails in a row were non moly oils, 2 RP, 2 valvoline, and I forget the other two maybe some other guys remember. If you guys want to run RP or any non moly oil, consider dumping some biogaurd moly treat down there.

Got this done yesterday, and to finish off the weekend I changed the rear diff fluid today. Just went with Mobil 1 75w140...good enough for me.

My 2011 still has the (2) 14mm hex drain/fill plugs. No rubber plug up top like a lot of you have. It also only took 2 quarts before spilling out. Thought I had a little more to go (4.6 pints) so I'll probably recheck it.

Fantastic oil & filter combo Sir !

I like the idea of the fumoto drain valve , I just can't bring myself to install one on my truck as I 4x4 lots in rough terrain . I bought one for my wife's car though [emoji106]

Thank you. My truck only sees mild offroading and I've never scraped on anything I drive it over. Once I got the fumoto snugged up, the appendage with the release was at about the 10 o'clock position so that makes me feel better about it.

Hey fellas , in an attempt to not get off subject here [emoji16][emoji16][emoji106]I have posted in 4th Gen General discussion.
It's about my windshield washer fluid sensor and tubing .
I know Smiley changed his sensor a while back , hopefully he will post there .

Just took a trip to the beach, first time I've been able to put alot if miles on the hemi at one time. It's approximately 200 miles down here, I'll have to check for sure on the way back. Where speed limit was 65 I was getting 23.4 mpg, when it went up to 70 it was 23 mpg. I'm pleased.

8 speed,2wd, 321 gears, original SRA's. When I was running 30wt my oil pressure was 52psi at speed and 41/42 at idle when hot. With the 20wt it bounces between 51 and 52 at speed and between 38 to 40 at hot idle.

Do any of you have any experience with this product?

873DF3CE-D276-4C78-B8C9-F73681A54A36.jpeg

I was instructed to add 4-5oz before winter & after winter. Supposed to help with any moisture accumulation within the fuel tank & system.

They have a diesel formula as well! Might give it a go!

Had this bottle given to me!

Yup, it appeared to do it's intended job. The powersports (boats, sleds, bikes, quads etc.) shops around me push it pretty hard. Can't say if it's any better than Sta-Bil or not though, I've always just used the marine grade Sta-Bil for all my outdoor gas guzzlers and the occasional dose of Seafoam.
