That's more than likely exactly what it is with the hydraulic lifters. If I have to move it a short distance I'll usually rev it up to about 2500 before I kill it and that helps an lot on the next start.
I have the same "issue"....loud ticking for a couple seconds if I just move the truck over, etc.
But what I dont understand is why that loud ticking will NOT occur if I "just move the truck over" but then not start it again for a while (i.e. overnight). It starts normal after waiting that long...no loud ticking.
If it were the lifters not getting filled up, would they not tick at *every* next startup, regardless of "soak" time?
As far as filters go - if the RP/Amsoil/Fram Ultra world ended tomorrow, I think I would be headed to the SRT filter. I managed to get 2 of the 20-820 yesterday, 13 each from pep boys.
