Hi everyone. I have been lurking the forums for almost 4 years now since I bought my 2014 sport quad cab. I am trying to figure out what to go with for tires on my 20s now. I have had bfg all terrains on until last fall since it was almost new but I got 17" rims and tires now so I don't need the snow traction anymore on my 20s. I do very occasionally tow a 18' car trailer aside from that it's a commuter no off road either. I love the look of the white letters on it so choices are limited. I am looking at either the stock size in the Goodyear wrangler SRA, copper discoverer AT3 and Firestone Destination AT and also the Goodyear AT adventure in a 275/55r20. The reason I mention the smaller size in that tire is that I can get the 55 series for over $100 a tire cheaper, I'm just not sure how they'll look. Any one have any opinions or photos of that size or any of those tires on their ram sport? Thanks in advance

Pat

Nope none here I'm purely duratrac on all my4x4 it's a great tire I mainly haul loads with my dump trailer or car trailer a lot of miles on the highway. And a great tire in the winter time.... in these posts I'll always mention the duratracs because it's not a full aggressive tire but it is more then other all terrain tires. And I usually get 45k-65k miles out of them. 315/70/1762b1188a2908d823cba56fffa34216ca.jpg

The Wrangler SRAs are what came from the factory on my 14 Sport and I quickly changed them for Cooper Discoverer ATPs in stock 20" size. The Coopers were way better than the SRAs. I recently traded the 14 for a 17 and the ATPs still had a lot of tread left after 20k miles. I haven't used the Cooper AT3 but hear they are an even better tire than the ATP. As far as the others I have no experience. I am currently looking for wheels/tires for my 17 and the AT3 is on my list of about 4 brands of tires to consider.

Thanks for the input guys, I don't really need a aggressive tire since I have 17s for the winter. I also had the SRA on my sport when I bought it and ran them for 6 months from sept 2013 to March 2014. I am here in the great white north (Nova Scotia) and I really had no issues with them even in a few inches of snow and being on the coast freezing rain. I only changed them out to BFG A/T KO because I got them brand new for under $500 and sold my stock wranglers with 7000km on them for more then that. That being said I only had my wranglers on my truck for 7000km so tread wear was something I didn't even experience. I want the white lettering for sure I love the look the sport has with it which is why I liked the KO BFG because they were solid but after 35000km then got really noisy even with proper pressure and regular rotations and alignment checks (I am an certified auto tech and have access to all the gear myself).

The SRAs are pure garbage; I hate those crappy tires. I switched over to Cooper tires on the stock 20" Sport rims and the traction was significantly better, especially in snow and slick conditions.

I recently switched over to Rebel 17inch rims and put on a set a BFG TA KO2 and have been extremely pleased with the performance.

I really hate Goodyear tires. As the old adage states, "Goodyear tires, you'll be lucky if they are good for a year."

I went with cooper discovery atw they carry a snowflake rating can be left on all year round (no tire changing) mine are 275/60/20 and the winter we just had in Manitoba in march we had heavy snow then heavy rain then freezing then thawing then more snow and they were good on ice excellent on snow and wet and now were dry very good traction.:happy107:b oh and not very noisy either.

The AT/W are a great tire for year round use. I really don't need a tire with the three peak mountain snow flake aS I have winter rims now. Not because I wanted a dedicated snow tire but because I didn't want my 20" sport rims to start to peel and corrode from the large abundance of salt we use. I know what everyone will say and opinions are opinions but white lettering is a must for me on my 20s. If I was going to run my 20s all year still I may stray from that to have the best tire I could for year round but for the 10km round trip commute I do to work a day any tire will last me until it rots as far as wear goes.

Have you Cooper guys noticed a hit on your mpg's? I wanting to get either a set of HT Plus, AT/3 or ATP. I do mostly street driving with the occasional muddy firewood trip, or steep gravel mountain road. I've read great things about the Coopers, but I'm worried they will crush my mileage. The HT Plus is probably the most street friendly, and what I'm leaning towards.

I decided to sell off my winter rims and tires and got the Goodyear wrangler all terrain adventure w/Kevlar. I plan to run these year round now on my 20s. Very nice tire.
