Tires. Yup, simply, tires.

Ok, knowing me, it won't be "simple".

I'm looking at buying a new set of (4) tires next Friday and I'm curious what my options are in the 20" Rim Size Category.

?

The Cooper Discover AT3 is a highly rated tire.
I personally like the ride of a Load Range E tire (A bit stiffer, but more 'controlled' feeling)

Do you deal with snow? rain? off-roading?
Lots of questions into what tires to buy.

Definitely not looking for a stock size.

I'd like something that fills up the wheel wells a bit better.

However, my main purpose for the truck is towing. So I can't go too crazy and it seems everything that is aesthetically appealing to me is beyond my current budget. And I must get new tires w/in two weeks before I need to tow again.

Snow, rain, no off roading.

I do tow though. And this is my main concern. I'd like something bigger than stock and more set for a heavier load.

A 275/65R20 would be a great tire size.
Pretty sure it'd fit on a stock 20x9 wheel / stock suspension.

I stand behind the Discover AT3. Friend has 285/70R17 Load E's on her 07 3500 and they're great!

I love my toyos. I had 33 12.5 20s Toyo mts on the truck. I do like the tires but for a 1500 with a 4.7 a little much. Put 275/65R20s Toyo Ats on it and it is much better and I like the tires a lot. Just my 2 cents

275/65R20 is 34" and will look nice and full with no rubbing. You can squeeze the 285/65R20 in there but only a couple brands and styles available. I really like the look of the 285 BFG A/T that is why I went that direction but they are pricey so maybe not what you want to spend. The 275/65R20 is a great size because it is pretty common being on F250 and there are many options. I am probably going to go that route this time so I can find a set of take off F250 Michelin AT2's for about $600 less than the BFG's I have now with over 55,000 on.

WTF?!?! Lol! When you need new tires, you just by a new truck??? Damn, I like how you operate bro! :)

LMAO

Well... here not too long ago I posted about getting a new 2500 because of my lack of faith in my current 1500's towing capability.

We put it on the back burner.

Long story short, this truck is going to start needing more $ put into it than I care to put into it.

Decided to hold off on the new truck.

Maybe next year.

So, I bought a set of Toyo Open Country All Terrain Extreme II.
275/60/R20

$325 per tire. Which was cool.

But when I was told I had 2 cracked locking lug nuts and I said take them all off, and was then hit with... $34 ... for FOUR... lug nuts? Insane.

Looked at my old tires and they had a MAX LOAD of 2600lbs @ 44PSI
These have a MAX LOAD of 3300lbs @ 80!PSI - wow

That's what I thought, around $1,400.00 for a set of tires, no way. I can get a great set of tires for around $800.00.

I checked 4 different places around here and they were all about the same.

The cheapest place had the General Grabbers but I had read some negative stuff about them so I declined.

I priced these tires online for $260 per. But add in S&H and then having them mount&balanced well, it was about the same then.

Aint nothin cheap no more
