Tow mirrors and temp sensor ?

Hey folks. Been eyeing those amazon special tow mirrors and I read somewhere that the CEL can be activated with a faulty temp sensor. Not that I don’t trust cheap amazon stuff. But I don’t trust cheap amazon stuff.

Anyways, could that sensor affect anything else if it’s not working properly ?

I got so lucky with my 2008 ram. My mechanic had one sitting in his lot he was selling. I asked if I could swap my mirrors for that one and he tossed me a socket set and told me to fill
My boots lol. This time it ain’t so easy. Or cheap! Lol

Parts of the HVAC system will cease to function or not as intended. If you have heated/cooled seats those won't turn on automatically.

I've been told that it can also affect engine performance, that's why it triggers a MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light).
