Transmission overheated - possibly still running above normal?

I highly doubt they did more than replace the part, but again, I'll double check the invoice.

As far as I can tell, unless replacing the fluid was part of the service, nothing on the invoice indicates they did anything but change out the part.

just found your thread. My truck may have a similar issue, the tranny is suddenly running a lot warmer than usual even though not coming close to the temps you saw.

Whats inside that heater part they replaced? Thermostat? It seems almost too cheap to actually do something more than just being a heat exchanger.

The thermostat is in the heater assembly
