I'm looking for a SAFE way to remove some tree sap that has dried in my truck.
Internet search said acetone but that seems like it would ruin the paint.
I tried WD-40 to no avail.
Any ideas short of ordering something made for this purpose?

I've used 3M Adhesive Remover to get sap off of my vehicles with good results. It won't mess up the clear coat. Just use a microfiber towel when wiping it off.

I have used methyl hydrate (gas line antifreeze) for decades.

We used it at several detail shops I worked at back in the day.

It is cheap and I have never seen it harm paint in any way.

Pour some on a clean rag and rub gently until the sap is gone (don't do this in the blazing sun).
