It says it's a cummins V but it's not a cummins?? makes no sense someone please explain?
VM Motori, once owned by Detroit Diesel, is now owned 50/50 by General Motors and Fiat Powertrain.
Well...I just don't understand the big demand for a small diesel engine in the 1500. I know there are diesel purists who have been calling on it forever...If I am understanding what is being said about the VM V6, it produces about 240HP and 406FtLbs of TQ...which is cool...while the Hemi produces 395hp and 407FtLbs of TQ...I read where it uses 8.3L of fuel/100km...which is about 28mpg, but NOT in a 1/2 ton truck, I would assume.
I don't see the benefit of having a small diesel engine, with diesel being more expensive that gasoline.
But then again, maybe I am missing something here.
I'm assuming its naturally aspirated? I didn't see anything about it being turbocharged
If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars make people drive drunk, and spoons make you fat...
A single Garrett VGT 2056 turbocharger has variable turbine geometry. Compact and lightweight, the turbocharger provides near-instant response and includes an air-to-air intercooler.
Biggest advantage would be more torque down low compared to our hemi engines.

If it had a turbo with those numbers... Then there would be a nice baseline to mod upon...
