Uconnect functionality?

If you were to install an 8.4 radio into a vehicle that had a 5.0 from the factory, will the uconnect app work for remote start and what not? (oem parts installed and enabled)

Nope. FCA won't allow any non factory radios to use their network service to do this, so any features that use uConnect (13-17) or SiriusXM Guardian (18+) won't work on vehicles with upgraded radios.
