UConnect update

This is it? This is why my UConnect has been hijacked? So my Sirius Radio subscription--which I let lapse almost two years ago--can properly make the favorites list work correctly?

There's got to be more to it than this...

I took the update yesterday and so far everything is working as normal.

So I recently did the UAQ upgrade in my 2016, and I am now getting an update prompt. Here is my current software/application version.

Should I hold off as long as I can before having to update? Or just roll with it and let it install?

If you recently got it from a salvage yard I'd do it now if you are within their return window. You are also running firmware with horrible audio quality. You should notice an improvement after upgrading.

Is this update for the 2018+ radios /Panasonic? I have a 2014 ra4/vp4 nav Harmon..which I updated about a year and a half ago with the help of mpgrimm. Just checking?

I believe it's just for the 2018/classic UAQ and UAS radios.

Ok, great, that's what I was thinking from the thread, but wasn't sure.. cause my radio, back up camera, volume and nav are all working great! Thank you again with helping me in the past with the update on my radio, which was causing a problem with the nav and compass direction.

I just went to the Ram site to see if there was an update for my 2016 Ram with the RA 4 radio w/ Navigation

It took an hour after i filled in the VIN

This is what came back:

Now i know why my Navigation Map has been so incorrect & i had to reset the date & time manually

Yes, 18.45.01 is the latest update for the Harmon radio, like 2013,-through like 2017, that solved the problem with the nav being wrong and time. But that update also caused my back up camera pic to get a washed out/very bright display. So the fix was to do a radio reset with the temp buttons.

Unless you have a dealer that will do the update for free, you can buy a USB thumb drive for less that $20.
If your browsing this forum on a computer along with a USB thumb drive you have everything you need to update your radio and the UConnect website has step by step instructions how to.
It's a lot easier than understanding how a vehicle CANbus system works

I read something about the download being a compressed or Zip file
Then it has to be decompressed or unZipped before it goes onto a thumb drive

I think i know the words, but what they really mean is way above my knowledge base

That is why i will have to get someone else to do it.
My learning stopped back in the stone ages, when i was in the Navy & we recorded music on an Akai M7 reel to reel & drank coffee out of a badly stained cup

I have a 2019 Classic. My radio updated and now I have horrible audio lag when using bluetooth. It makes it impossible to sit and watch a video. It also kicks my phone out of android auto so often I can't use it. It was fine before the update.

I sure hope that the update does not screw up my radio & navigation

If it is screwed up after the update, i am going to insist on speaking to a Regional Representative, because i know that the dealership won't do anything about it, without being forced to

The 18:45:01 update doesn't usually cause any issues with the RA4 . I've done a lot of them with no problems. I think you will be happy with the results and having your Nav and clock work correctly again. The only issues reported by some people was the Sierra Wireless card not being able to update which caused those radios to brick but it's uncommon.

That happened to me, but I recovered it and it skipped over the Air Card and updated (took multiple days on a trickle charger).

Call the dealer. They usually have someone around to pick up and drop off customers.
