Vararam filter cleaner

Bought a used Vararam intake and the filter is dirty. Can I use the K&N cleaner kit or do I need to buy the clear one for Vararam? Not sure if its just so you buy their product or if it's really necessary.

I use the k&n stuff and it seems fine to me. Plus I like the red tint.

When I bought my used Vararam I went ahead and bought a new filter and cleaner from the manufacturer. But I was wondering the same thing when I run out of the specific cleaner because I do have some K&N Cleaner left.

Just had a K&N aerosol kit gifted to me. A little hard for this rookie to get the oil coated evenly, will try a squeeze bottle next clean cycle.
