Currently owning a 2006 1500 Ram. Having to do an oil pump change on the truck. *Dropped a lifter RIP* To get to the oil pump its behind the timing cover, and because of this i'm going to have to take the radiator out. Figured I might as well use some distilled water, and get some coolant whenever I put it back in. What coolant do I need? I've done a-lot of reading online. I've never really messed with coolant before, to be honest with you I've never really worked on a truck since I bought this damn thing. ( Not talking **** about Dodge, just a really ****** / shady owner ) Some people are saying that 4th gen you need HOAT rated anti-freeze, and 5th you need OAT rated. What do I need?

You need to use the 5 year/100k mile formula, witch is the hoat, (orange color) coolant. Part #68048953ab.

You don't have a 4th gen, you have a 3rd gen (02-08) which uses HOAT (like he said, the orange stuff). Mopar 68048953AB or equivalent.
