Well mine doesnt look big in pictures. Especially that one. If you want a reference, mine is higher than the F150 by like an inch at the roof, and I have like 2.5 inches of ground clearance over him.

Btw guys what's a good brand to go with for gears. I was going to go with Richmond but I'm now leaning towards 4.88, which they don't make for a 9.25

Yukon is the generally preferred in Dodge circles.

Or motive gears. Seem to be popular with the 3rd gen guys and thats what currently in my 3rd gen and a set of motive 4.10s are sitting in the back of my 98 waiting to be installed.

As for the earlier comments on the $10k nova project... I've sunk so much cash into my 98 over the past 6 years I've lost track and would be afraid to know the actual total lol. But I'd say I've got to be well past the $20k mark with no end in sight!!! :D

Oh I also spent a bit of time working on mine tonight still waiting on parts for my front end. But I did start running some more wires to hook up an inidcator light in the cab so I know when my electric fans are on. Will get some pics when im done. Wasn't much to see tonight other than an ugly mess of wires. Lol

Picked up a rear end assembly yesterday from a salvage yard. took it to the dodge dealer today to have em judge if the pinion bearings were up to par. They said NO! pout pout. I'm advanced mechanically. Can I swap it myself or is the whole backlash setting thing going to be a problem.

Worst place you could get an opinion! Theyll tell you its bad even if its fine lol, typical dealership. Try a few local shops before you do do anything.

CEL has gone out of its own accord. WTF :jnono:

Phil, voted! :D

Dealerships are the absolute worst possible place to bring any vehicle. The only reason to ever go to the dealer is if your vehicle is under warranty. Otherwise they are nothing but over priced and generally under qualified mechanics.

Unless you're very good friends with a mechanic who works there and likes to give you deals :D Lol

Agreed though, reason theyre called Stealerships!

Learned a lesson today. Never assume. I sprayed the idler with WD40 and it immediately shut up. So i assumed it was that. Even my dad was almost sure it was that. And after buying a new one, realized it's the belt.

Removed the 8 bolts that hold the bed to the chassis in preperation for the body lift install. Before the lift goes in, i plan to remove the bed, flip it upside down, clean it, and undercoat it. May as well, now is the time.
