These are things that are a must for winter but I always keep in the truck:

Bailout gear (an old winter jacket and hat because I never drive wearing enough, a pair of FF gloves, work boots).

Basic tools, a good flashlight, recovery strap, long heavy-duty jumper cables, hitch D-Ring, army shovel, a 2 foot 2x10 for jack stabilization, air compressor

2 bottles of water and a few individual packs of cookies just to hold me or someone over.

I'm a bit OCD and hate clutter and things bouncing around, so everything is tucked away out of sight either in the floor boxes or under the seat.

I carry all of that stuff year round (ram boxes store a lot)
Only add window scraper and a blanket for the winter.
And always fill up about 1/2 tank, never know if you be stranded somewhere.

I have an extra Stanley Sawtooth Mini in the truck at all times. Not a chainsaw but definitely comes in handy while hunting when trimming limbs for truck/trail clearance and also works well for cutting down firewood and not scaring every animal within a 10 mile radius lol

I'm curious as to what others are carrying in the way of "Winter / Snow" driving equipment. (Chains, sand, shovel , etc... you get the idea)

This got me thinking as snow will be in the mountains soon enough.

This coming from someone where the temp outside right now is 60'f and sunny, with a light ocean breeze :waytogo:

OP, you are in HB and I'm next door in Costa Mesa. Now, i probably use my Ram 2500 Mega Cab truck just a bit different than you but here is what i carry.

I have a sizeable plastic tool chest in my truck i keep in the back under the tonneau cover year round. I keep a lot of supplies in it for our cross country road trips we do several times per year as well as any emergency needs for when we visit Mammoth or the local mountains.

-Complete oil change for 6.4 Hemi
-Brake Cleaner, Carb Cleaner, Trans and Brake fluid to top off.
-Various Hose clamps, valve stems, radator sealant, various size/lengths hoses, and other odds and ends
-8x10 Poly tarp.
-4 55 gallon 10 mil trash bags and several 13 gallon bags.
-Some basic tools that i need to expand.
-10' syphon hose with squeeze bulb.
-Two tow straps
- 50' Length of 1/2" two braid rope and 100' length of 3/8" two braid rope.
-Tire pressure guage up to 150 psi.
-About 10 bungee cords
-6 Ratchet Straps
-36" Estwing Axe
-Several small utility rags and one large beach towel.
-25 Ton Bottle Jack with 2-3 2x6 boards.
-Blanket that is kept inside Mega Cab area with zip lock back of Toilet Paper.

When i am specifically going into the mountains in the winter i will bring a duffel bag of insulated flannels, Carhartt jackets and snow pants. I always carry enough gear to make sure i have a way to either get out of the situatoin im in or be able to survive for a good length of time. I alway have at least one pistol and if a longer trip one of my AR's. I am one of the luck ones to have my CCW in California and carry my Shield 9 or my G19. Installed this for when it can't be on my hip.

In Florida that winter thing is when the temps go below 65°and everybody freezes in place. Lol

Yeah, panic sets in and they close schools and some buisnesses and warn cars to "stay off the streets" here if 35 degree weather comes for ONE day. Panic!

Happy New Year Neighbor

As I was reading the list I thought, "...I'd need a Mega Cab to carry everything?" :waytogo:

Great list and certainly gave me some add-on ideas. For the most part I do have majority of items listed, with one exception...... I keep the roll of toilet paper in the console safe. Super valuable these days. $$$

I do carry toilet paper also and glass cleaner. Other than that just a phone and CC if near home.
If traveling, the list gets much longer - pretty much the above plus
most tools - wrenches and sockets
couple of hose clamps
Ryobi light with 4AH battery
battery impact gun - 450 lb/ft. of torque
bottle jack
clothes and food/water - well we are traveling :)
strap off my boat bow
currently incorrect alt. belt
Tyvek suit and latex gloves
piece of coroplast to lay on
rags
jack stands
jumpers
ryobi and cigarette air compressors
blanket
maps - paper
another AC converter besides the one in the dash.
full size E load spare
scraper
binoculars - never know when you want to look at something
and probably quite a few other things
Often a fairly full 5 gallon can of gas - esp. when towing

Lol. Always good to carry the wrong alternator belt.

I get the odd extreme weather alert through my phone via the emergency broadcast system. Just love it when I'm napping and it goes off. If it's not a hurricane, tornado, Military or alien invasion I don't need the emergency warning.

It wasn't by design lol. it is the stock belt (low miles), but with an underdrive pulley it is a bit long. Might work, but if nothing else, might help someone else stranded.
