I was looking to buy a programmer/tuner for my 01 dodge ram 1500 5.2L sport 4x4. I have a 2" leveling kit and 35" tires and want something to boost some of my power and mpg and would like to know what is a great one for my truck. I've been looking at a hemifever sct programmer but is their others that are better or just as good I'm not wanting to spend a whole lot the one I'm looking at from hemifever is $400. And advice would be great.

SCT with hemifever tune is the best bang for the buck. You wont get better fuel mileage with it though, as youll be having to much with your truck can do after ;)

Gears would go much further for what you're looking for. 4.56 gears for ratio.

Haha I hear ya. I've been looking at gears also and I know almost everyone has recommended 4.56 but how fast can I run with those gears. Cause sometimes I do like to play around and race a little with my buddies lol.:D

4.56 would actually help you out there. They will bring your tire size/performance back to a stock ratio with your 35" tires. There is literally no down side to lower gears in my eyes.

Couldnt agree more about the gears. 4.56's would be geat in your truck. The 4.10s in my truck are hands down one of my favourite mods even though theyve only been in for a few weeks. Made the truck a whole lot more fun to drive.

Alright looks like ill also be adding 4.56 gears once I get the money. Speaking of money about how much does it cost to have 4.56 gears installed ? You have to also install them in the front also right?

^Uh, only installing them in the front is bad.

+10 for gears.
+2 for SCT.

Yes you need to do the front as well. Otherwise.... very bad things happen. I would estimate about $3000 in labour and parts to do the job. Depends on the shop some are cheaper some more expensive. I would definitely recommend freshening everything up in there while the diffs are open.
