I tow my 30ft it's about 9200lbs dry. When go out for a camping trip I'm well over 10,000lbs. That's without the quad I yet to try it with it I think would be to much. I also have a bully dog programmer and run premium fuel when I now I'll be towing

Tyler Take it to a Cat scale & adjust the hitch until you get as much weight back on the steers as your hitch will provide. You might find it's not quite that heavy. But that you are still on your max drive axle weight. I recently did a 33' floor plan with 3 slides that was 9,086. Anyway while with bags it might not sag or handle bad you would likely be quite a bit over max axle rating by adding in the quad. Power especially if the lower gears & tune should be good but it's the suspension that needs help.

I've hauled 4200 lbs in the bed of my 12 hemi with zero issues. I can't find the picture, but it says floating around on here somewhere.

I'm not sure but I think my sons grandam outweighs my John Deere 1020. Not sure. She squats a little (or a lot. Lol) but pulled fine. One of my upgrades will be a set of airbags and compressor. Headers and tuner are next thought.

Fishman get you an inexpensive WDH before the air bags. Check etrailer. In fact get that before the tune & headers. With the front end lifted like that headlights in the eyes of oncoming traffic all the weight is lifted off the steer axle. First person to pull out in front of you and you end up backwards upside down & in the ditch.

Yea I don't like to tow that much weight with that trailer unless it's way back over the trailer tires. The tractors definitely don't make the truck squat like that. I had looked at some wdh but for the price difference the air bags seem to make the most sense to me. Not a huge difference in price for a 10k pound trailer really.

Have both WDH & air bags and like them both but they do different jobs with only a lil overlap. Cheap isn't cheap if it doesn't do the job you need it to do. You don't just need a level looking truck. You need weight restored back to your steer axle.

So what exactly does the wdh do? It honestly looks like it wouldn't do a thing to take weight off the rear axles. I'm thinking about the airbags to redistribute the weight by lifting the rear end up and therefore, I would imagine fixing the problem of weight distribution. Or am I looking at it incorrectly?

This video show a WDH before and after being "loaded"

Airbags do not transfer weight off the rear axle, they increase weigh capacity of the axle they are on. Even though it looks like there is weight on the front end by using airbags, if you take the truck over scales you'll see the front end will still be lacking weight.

Awesome! This makes complete sense to me now. Thanks! I'll probably get both but the WDH are likely the first investment at this point.

Pretty good video. Good explanation.

There are a lot of good videos on YouTube...

Also please remember to set up the trailer weight correctly as wells as the brake gain if you have electric brakes.

2 sets of rails, rollers and drive gears for a pair of excavators. 18000+ lbs of trailer and parts. Took a bit of load shifting to get it balanced on the tri-axle trailer and the back sagged a fair bit, but the truck got moving easily enough and the trailer had good brakes so it wasn't too hard to stop either. Not something I'd want to do again though.
