Nice numbers.
Last session I made 511 RWHP, at 40' elevation. But that was still the baby blower ;)

That's awesome, I think mine would be close to that at your elevation. Baby blower huh, what kind of blower are you planning on getting? Going to build up the bottom end to handle more boost perhaps?

Truck is currently on a TVS1900 one off Magnuson kit. Switching to the TVS2300 here shortly.

The TVS1900 on a 2.8" pulley (smallest that clears the drive cover) is making 7psi with the stock Dampener. I would have to switch to an ATI Dampener in order to make more boost wit the 1900

With the 2300, I have more options down the line with more upgrades. First limitation is going to be the stock fuel supply system. I need a bigger pump and also pistons to go any higher than 8psi.

If I ever crack into the motor, I'll go to a 392, and then will need the 2300 anyway.

Cool, yea I was thinking about stroking mine eventually too. A combo of big blower and big CI would make for some killer power :D

Exactly, but then the issue of input torque to the trans comes up. 8HP70 are only rated for 516 ft/lbs input torque. I'm already making 486 Ft/lbs to the rear wheels, so I am pretty sure the input torque at the converter is close to 600 ft/lbs...

But apparently in Central & South America, you could get a Sport with the 6 speed Getrag manual.... boy would that be fun...

There are guys making close to 600 to the wheels with nitrous in 8sp trucks without any problems, and Southern Hotrod makes a built 8sp that they claim will handle 1000hp.

Yea, I too have heard that the stock 8sp in these trucks can safely handle up to about 650HP.

Well I'll be a monkeys uncle. Learn something new everyday...
Thanks for the info...

My 8hp70 currently doesn't "hold" like it used too. I have the lifetime warranty, so I am going to take it in and have it checked out.

I've not heard anything about Kenne Bell.
I swapped out the Eaton that came on my Lightning for one of theirs.
It was a monster.
One thing ...and I am new to Ram's... how is the lower on these motors. Ford was powder forged and would blow up easily if you didn't have a built lower.
Does Dodge implement powder forged rod etc?

Personally the Kenne Bell seems like over kill but it seems to be really overbuilt, which means to me... well thought out.

I have a ProCharger on my '13 V6 Mustang.

One of the nice things about a the ProCharger, is that if l keep my car under 2800 rpm, it's just a regular V6 Mustang. It still is capable of 30+ mpg. It drives nice.

My Mustang is making good power at 3000. 4000 rpm, and its lively. At 5500, l have 325 hp at the rear wheels. From there on to the 6800rpm redline, you'd better know what you're doing. The car weighs 3500 on the local truck scale.

So, the ProCharger is there when you want it. It's out of the way if you don't.

As far as lag, if l step on it, i dont notice any. If l am just cruising around, l just stay below 2800. If l want to romp, keep it above 3500. I reslly dont care to be in boost, unless l am going to use it.

It was 65f last weekend. I was romping on one of my favorite curvy back roads. In boost for miles. AIT was about 75.

I gained about 2mpg when just cruising, and will make peak boost around 4K rpm.
It will make an instant 6psi at any speed if you mash it.

Hemi's use a split powdered rod, similar to LS engines. Even the Hellcat rods are Split rods.

The rods are seldom the issue with the hemi, it's the thin upper ring land and tight upper ring gap that causes failures. If you open up the ring gap on the factory upper ring you can easily get the pistons to handle 12psi regularly but most people swap out the rotating assembly since it all has to come apart to open the ring gap up anyways. The rods/pistons don't use a floating pin so you can't just swap the pistons out like on the 6.1L and 6.4L engines. Modern Muscle offers a forged rod/piston combo for the 5.7L that will handle mid-level builds up to 6-700hp in the LX cars and are a direct carry over to the truck engine. The crank rarely fails in these as well but it's not forged like the 6.1L and 6.4L cranks are.

FYI on the Whipple kit. Was told yesterday that they tune using SCT, and a PCM unlocked by Diablosport will not work with their kit. You have to buy one unlocked for SCT specifically. Obviously you can just buy a "tuner kit" and have HF or whomever provide a custom tune. But just FYI.

I'm certainly enjoying my Procharger, probably the best bang for your buck kit at the moment :happy107: Don't go over 8PSI though on the stock parts with any SC or as mentioned previously, rings would go bye bye.

I'm very seriously considering the TVS2300 kit for my 2014 R/T. On the Magnacharger web site there are no installation instructions for the 2014 just the 2010 under the technical tab. Are updates in the works for the 2014? Thanks for posting the coupon code. It is still valid!

Tune

Does anyone know if the Diablosport Trinity that comes with the Magnuson kit already loaded with a tune to load in to the trucks pcm for the supercharger? Or is there more to it than that? In other words is it set up to load, install the supercharger, and go!
