I think I have everything picked out to lift my 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 - except wheels. Is there a load capacity I should not go below? The wheels I'm looking at say 2200 lbs. Another wheel says 3500 lbs despite being a tad lighter. 2200 lbs just seems low. But, most of the wheels I see are 2200 or 2500. Any advice? Anyone know the load capacity of stock wheels?

Look at you gawr for your truck. Crunch some numbers to see if the can handle the full axle load.

Im glad your thinking about it. Most dont. Im a welder and have seen many cracked spokes on rims when guys put them on big trucks

Front and rear gawr is 3900lbs. So take the 2200lbs and multiply by 2 and they exceed your axel rating front or rear.

Just for thought, your lift may reduce your payload so you may not be as tied to a load rating. Not saying to go less.

Good luck

Can you elaborate? I don't want to reduce my payload. I'm looking at the Zone 4" (3" rear) lift. Isn't payload determined by the axle?

My 20x9 Fuel Mavericks are rated at 2500lbs, not all wheels are the same.

Yeah. Most seem to be 2200 to 2500. Those ones I saw for 3500 appear to be an exception. It may even be a typo. I want black wheels. Some machined edges are okay though I'm not sold on the machined dots/beads/fake nuts around the edge of the rim. I think that pops out too much. I'm also not sure if gloss black will shine more than I want. I like sturdy looking rims. I don't like the super set-back or concave look. I've looked at Helo HE878 and Mamba M23. I've also thought about the Black Rhino Warlords in gunmetal. If anyone has one of those three on your truck, I would love to see a picture. Or, let me know if you have a rim I may like. I am currently trying to find 17x9, as I want more tire sidewall than my current 20" rims allow.
