Ordered a set of BF KO2 for my 2017 1500. Stock size 275/60/20. Wanting white letters out. When the dealership went to install them they realized they were black wall both sides. They looked into it further and apparently that size isn’t offered with white letters. ‍♂️
They then checked about the duratracs, and apparently it’s the same for them also.

What are some of the options out there without breaking the bank?

thanks.

I’ve had black out for the last 20 years. White out is coming back.
It’s a blacked out truck. Rims too. I liked it when I bought it new, but lately it seems a bit too much. Thinking the white letters might sharpen it up a bit. ‍♂️

I like the white out also. However, I didn't choose my tires based on having white letters or not. Just so happened that Cooper AT3 4S had the white letters in stock size. So far , happy with the tires in rain, ice, and dry roads. Might want to give them a look.

Amazon has paint pens for tires. Never used one so I can't vouch for how well it works, but it's a cheap option.

I ran into the same situation this weekend with the same tire too. The BFG's don't have white lettering. I am going to try adding them myself:

Let us know how you make out.
I’m thinking I’m just going to put the BF’s on. Might be something I’d try later on.

I’ve used those paint pens years ago to touch up scuffs on tires that were already white lettered. They worked ok for that, but not sure how’d they’d be doing a full tire x4, without making a mess. It’d be a good beer day I guess.

Same here. I wanted the white letter look. I've been very happy with the Coopers.

I'm personally a huge fan of Yokohama Geolandar A/T. Great in rain, mud, snow and not too noisy on the road.
I have the black letters out but they are white letter on other side. But they ain't cheap.

I have the AT3 4S with the white lettering. I thought I wouldn't like it but I'm glad I did it. It's a solid tire, great in the rain. Can't comment on snow performance as I'm located in FL and don't ever plan on seeing snow with my truck :)

I really like the solid white letters out myself, in fact I ordered the BFG 285/70/R17 KO2's just that way for my Jeep and will be going the same route when I replace my truck tires. The hard part will be finding 285/45/22 with solid white letters.

Tire letters that adhere are really nice if you’re considering that option, but they are pretty high-maintenance if you like to keep a clean wheel/tire. I touch them up with a paint marker every month during the winter.(right on the vehicle unless rotating). The issue with modern new tire compound is they release a brown residue that will stain through the letters.

I wanted to go white-letter myself (my old Jeep would always have that... it's kind of a requirement if you have a Jeep, methinks.) Problem is, few makers do it these days (The Falkens don't have that option).

I might break down and get the paint option just for giggles, but I know that the first logging trail I go down will probably scuff the hell out of it. :/

Hey, I was considering those as I run NITTO's too. Don't mind the maintenance, but how well do they stay glued on all the way around the edges of the letters was my concern Tim? Looks really cool though!
Can they be scrubbed back white each time they stain?

If you lay a bead of the adhesive around the edges after initial install they haven’t come apart in 6 months. It chemically bonds to the tires as I took one letter of to test and it removes sidewall with the letter(needed heat too).

The stain is actually through the rubber letter from the tire compound break in, so if you applied to a gently used set of tires it would be an external scrub to clean from road/debris.

They are truly permanent, so removal ends up being a mount/balance flip of the tires.
